Bitcoin ETFs took in $2.4 billion last week, their largest weekly inflow since October, which was enough to push them positive for all of 2026. The Block reported the numbers on Saturday.
That is a real turnaround. ETF flows were negative for the year as recently as a few weeks ago, and flows are the clearest gauge of institutional demand because they come from actual purchases, not sentiment surveys.
Two things worth watching from here. First, whether the inflow holds for more than a week, since a single strong week after a long dry spell is usually rebalancing rather than a trend. Second, what it does to price: The Block's report landed with bitcoin trading well below its recent highs, so the flows and the price are telling different stories right now.
Nobody knows which one gives in first. But a $2.4 billion week is the strongest evidence yet that institutions came back.
